Angry Birds!!!

This week I had a few days off sick

It started out a bit like this, but thankfully didn't get that bad

Someone decided she'd better take care of me and her version of that means taking over my armchair

So blah blah blah, I was sick and all that stuff

But I was bored

I plan on making husband a blanket of his own since he stole mine straight away but as of yet I haven't bought any wool for it

I had another idea

I'd make Angry Birds

Real Ones!

Ones I can throw around the house and say
"its cause the bird was angry"

So I needed birds

I found some patterns on Ravelry and the lovely lady who designed these patterns even has her own blog

I didn't ever think I'd get into Amigurumi but once I found some patterns I decided to get cracking

and made the red bird

well why stop?

I need more birds otherwise I'd have to keep getting up to fetch it to throw again so I made the blue bird

and they look so good together!

then, I decided to keep going

I made the yellow bird

and now they make a great set

Next up, I'll make the green pig
( or a few green pigs to throw the birds at )
and the rest of the birds

Stay tuned to see how I get on!!!

Pilates

I've been telling myself for about a year that I need to get fit

I've been reading blogs about crazy people who go running for 2.5hours

Run?

For 2.5 hours?

Are you kidding me?

I can't even walk up the stairs at work without having a heart attack!

So last week, last month, last year and past beyond that, I decided I need to get fit

Me

Get Fit

Those words look very strange when applied to me

Last night I got home and it was raining

I was going to attempt go for a run

But since we've had 2 months worth of rain in 24 hours I put it off
( My perfectly logical excuse is I feel the cold and get sick VERY easily )

But I realised, I have a Pilates DVD in the drawer

If I can't get fit by attempting to run then I can at least try to stretch my muscles in the warmth of my own home

There was one flaw to my plan

Her name ladies and gentlemen, is Holly

Holly the nusiance

This was right next to my head

This was, well, her swiping me for moving around and not playing one of her favourite games of all time
' Cushion '

So I got to the part where you sit up and cross your legs to roll into a ball
I got as far as sitting up and crossing my legs before ' someone ' decided I had made a nice place for her to snuggle

After I got her away from my, ahem, between my legs, she moved to my head
I rolled back and had a Holly pillow

After that squishing she moved to below my legs, one was up in the air so she decided she'd try snuggling under it

She didn't really fancy being kicked in the head as I moved my legs around
( that got another swipe and a stuck claw )

Eventually I had some success and shooed her away!

As you can tell, she sulks REALLY well

Meanwhile, down where the lions roar, there's constuction happening

I thought it was drainage pipes or something

Turns out its some weird claw thing - sorry for the poor quality photo, I was driving the wrong way
( a workmate thinks it might turn into a ribcage? )

We'll just have to wait and see!

Scones!!!

I've never been able to make scones
Never
Ever

I think thats my one kryptonite

Oh how I loathe making scones

Not because of the scones, but how my scones turn out

Imagine pancakes and you get the general idea....

If scones were on those FAIL email forwards, mine would feature

So my monthly gardening magazine turned up
( yes there is a point to this )
and what do you know, they taunt me with their
 'Never-Fail Scones' recipe

Hahaha I laughed at the page, never fail? Well I'll show you!!!

So there I was, thinking I was wasting ingrediants but putting them into the bowl anyway
4C Self-Raising Flour
300ml Cream
1 Can of Lemonade

I put them all in together, stirred it up, put it on the bench, rolled it out, used the cookie cutter thingie and put them in the oven and set the timer for 12 minutes ( on 200 degrees celsius )

Oh the shock
( Oh the horror?? )

They laughed in my face!
Look Becky, we're rising
Nah nah nah nah nah!!!!!

I don't think I've ever been so happy to be proven wrong!

I can now proudly say 'yes, I'll make scones for lunch'

why???
BECAUSE I CAN!!!!

And the proof, is in the picture

and here's a pic of the back of the scones

Granny Stripe Blanket

I did it!
I finally finished my Granny Stripe Blanket!!!
Yay!!!

I had a few mishaps, one big one where i missed a whole cluster and had to then go back and work it in - I was NOT unravelling the whole thing!!!

Then, I ran out of pink! Oh the dilemma!
The store told me they weren't ordering more in ''to make way for new season colours"
Well I tell you I was having none of that!
So I put on my sad face and they ordered it in
Hurray!

This took me 7 months to complete because I had more than one thing on the go

I did get some other items completed  ( and started ) in that time

So here's the photos:

This is it on a double bed
This blankets sole purpose is to be my winter snuggle blanket, thats why its the size it is

Its blue, green, pink and purple with yellow edging

look at those lines...

and that boarder
( whoops just released this photo is of the back of the blanket )

aah here's the front
